My client help B2B companies, elevate their brands and create content that resonates with potential customers. They specialise in thought leadership: the research reports and white papers that many other agencies struggle with. My client is looking for an experienced Editor to join their team in Reading part remote.

The main responsibilities as their Editor would be:

  • Editing and writing additional content for RFP artefacts—this typically includes an 8–12-page executive plus things like interactive graphics, presentations and more as their Editor
  • Working with designers to produce artefacts—this will include developing diagrams, charts and illustrations as their Editor
  • Managing editing and design deadlines as their Editor
  • Quality control and proofing as their Editor
  • Developing templates and improving efficiency as their Editor
  • You wouldn't be creating artwork, but you would be specifying charts etc. This might involve creating a chart in PowerPoint or scribbling something on a whiteboard—real or virtual. This may be interactive. A designer would then execute that.
     
    You may not have been called an editor, but it's something you should have experience of. It's quite a different skill to writing. The RFP work is medium–heavy editing rather than ever starting with a blank sheet of paper. Good organisational skills are also important.
     
    Client- or agency-side is fine for this role.
     
    It's less important to have tech experience, but B2B is important for my client. You would probably need to have, or be looking to gain, tech knowledge to advance within the company.
