An international design practice with an established headquarters in Australia and Madrid, is looking for an experienced junior to middleweight interior designer for their centrally located Madrid studio. You will be working across multiple luxury hospitality projects. The role is an initial 6-month contract with a view to extending or being made a permanent offer after the probationary period.

The successful candidate will be able to work from concept design through all phases of the design process, and communicate fluently in both Spanish and English. This opportunity would suit someone who is already based in Madrid,Spain and has the right to work in the EU.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Design Leader to implement the design of designated areas of a hospitality project from concept through to completion.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, full documentation packages, FF&E, specifications, and material schedules
  • Develop the design in 3D SketchUp and 2D AutoCAD
  • Attend design meetings and implement outcomes as required
  • Review documentation for quality assurance, that it complies with regulations and scope of work
  • Communicate with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Project and site coordination


Skills & experience

  • Hold BA in Interior Design / Interior Architecture
  • Have the right to work in the EU
  • Currently based in Madrid or can relocate in a timely manner
  • Prior experience working on high-end hospitality projects or other large scale projects is essential
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail and highly organised
  • The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, hard-working, efficient and an excellent communicator
