This boutique west London practice has an opportunity for a middleweight interior architect to join their team. Their projects focus on craftsmanship and materiality and for this reason the practice has built a reputation for designing imaginative and well-considered schemes spanning the residential, educational, retail and community sectors. This is an exciting role that will allow you to work on a variety of projects at different size and stages; providing the perfect opportunity to grow your skillset quickly and build on your job-running and project management experience from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meeting new clients, deciphering a brief and collating proposals
  • Developing original and creative design concepts and schemes
  • Collating schedules of design information from finishes to sanitary ware and ironmongery
  • Using AutoCAD when required to assist with drawing production
  • Annotating and reviewing technical design drawings
  • Sourcing and procuring FF&E and compiling schedules
  • Managing and mentoring junior team members
  • Sourcing art and antiques both in and out of the studio
  • Designing bespoke and customised furniture and lighting when necessary
  • Developing designs for product collaborations and own brand pieces
  • Styling and installing projects with the team (including shoots)

Skills & Experience

  • Advanced organisational skills, skilled project management and efficient time management
  • High level of FF&E sourcing and specification experience, including art & antiques
  • Experience collating detailed drawing packages
  • Experience in designing and quality control of bespoke furniture
  • Confidence preparing mood boards and immaculate presentation skills
  • Patience and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative flair and enthusiasm
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience of managing at least 1 or 2 juniors
  • A good understanding of target markets
