Senior Producer - Animation
We're working with a relatively new entity in the world of children's entertainment who are looking for a senior producer to lead production on several of their extremely well known shows. If you've got kids, they're probably watching a few of their programmes as you read this.
The business has grown massively in the last few years, scaling to over 200 people in just over three years with ambition growth plans which they are already on target for. We're working specifically with their production team, a well oiled machine that ensures that the creative work is delivered on time, to budget, and is highly entertaining for their target audience.
It's a fast paced team with little hierarchy; there are of course different levels of people from juniors to extremely well established seniors, but everybody in the team gets complete ownership.
What You'll Be Doing
It's a traditional line producer role. You'll be working closely with the directors of your shows, managing the day to day creative briefing process, managing external vendors, and dealing with all the project logistics (budgets and timelines).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ownership over the logistics and production of your shows, including budgeting, scheduling, briefing in the required skill sets and overseeing through the production phases.
- Working with your client and the creative team in the concepting phase, helping the creatives realise their vision and supporting the client throughout.
- Working with external suppliers and animation vendors to ensure the timely, cost effective and high quality delivery of work.
- Managing project burn rate and keeping the client and internal team updated on project finances and timelines.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering long form character animation projects, ideally in 3D as well as 2D. Of course, experience delivering short form work of this kind is also directly relevant! Having a strong technical understanding of the end to end delivery of animation is key, including pre and post production. Naturally we are looking for somebody highly organised and capable of working independently as the stand alone producer for a lot of the shows you'll be looking after.
Being comfortable working across a range of timezones is also key. While they make sure that people aren't overworked, some flexibility on fielding calls from the US or India is important.
All the usual personality traits apply - we are after somebody who wants to roll their sleeves up and muck in with a tight knit, highly collaborative team. That, and being genuinely invested in delivering great work are the most important things for this one.
