Senior CAD Technician
We’re seeking a Senior CAD Technician to join the 3D team at our internationally renowned exhibition design agency based in Old St, London.
As MCCGLCs new Senior CAD Technician your work will involve taking a project from the brief stage, for an event, meeting or branded space through to design development and production. This means creating technical drawings, elevations, specifications and working closely with suppliers. You should demonstrate a strong knowledge of production, construction and fabrication methods and attend supplier, site surveys and on-site deliveries when required.
You will ensure high quality output from our suppliers, create detailed drawings for costing as well as fabrication, and work closely with the internal or client project management team to deliver projects on time and on budget. This means you will have a close eye on the bottom line: have an awareness of project profitability - help identify areas within design/production which will affect the final numbers at all stages. As a Senior member of the 3D team you will develop your own and others existing designs to bring them to life. It is key to be able to work independently and when appropriate lead the more junior members of the team by offering guidance wherever necessary.
You’ll be enthusiastic, skilled and imaginative, you’ll add great ideas to a highly creative team, working across diverse and exciting projects for some of the world’s leading brands. You must have a keen interest and knowledge in experiential design and be able to perform well under pressure. You should have a strong interest in architectural design. You will work closely with other departments to ensure your work is delivered on budget and on brand, as we work globally with both our clients and suppliers, you also must be a confident and clear communicator.
4-6+ years Industry experience working in 3D (Exhibition/Event/Architecture design)
Strong Vectorworks 2D and 3D
Experience in creating technical drawing packs to be sent for production:
Understand and produce Technical Drawings with good knowledge of materials, production processes, fittings, etc.
On-site experience also essential
Ability to time-manage and coordinate/deliver multiple projects at the same time
Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
