This manufacturer of heaters, stoves and range cookers has always lead with technical innovation, building products that last and with a strong backbone built on traditional values.

All manufacturing takes place at the Company's premises in East Lancashire and with ambitious plans for the next generation of new products they need an enthusiastic and organised Product Designer to manage product development.

This exciting role will cover the whole development process from formulating plans through to delivering to deadline all new products and the re-development of current products. The role also includes market research, creating concepts, prototyping and testing all through to manufacture. The remit will also cover the briefing and liaising with any outside design agencies that might be used.

Objectives and requirements:

  • To lead the team and oversee product design, formalising the design function and processes so you will need to show man management skills and a practical and organised thought process
  • Experience from a product specific role within a manufacturing environment
  • You will be working with sales and marketing to understand changes in the market, their competitors and to schedule new product launches or updates so excellent communication and analysing skills are needed
  • As this is a hands-on role you will need good technical design abilities and to be CAD literate, they use SolidWorks
