I have an amazing opportunity for a 3rd Line IT Systems Engineer to join a growing UK based Architectural Practice with offices in London and Bristol. The company if always expanding and currently employ over 400 staff who work on Projects across all sectors in the UK and Internationally. Due to their growth they are looking to strengthen their IT backbone of the business.

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY

This is a 50:50 BAU to Projects role, joining the experience and growing IT Team. The role provides both technical support and project delivery, in line with business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proactive maintenance visits to client sites to review all IT systems
• Troubleshoot support desk issues across a wide range of technologies, providing efficient long-term solutions - working in both a 2nd and 3rd-line capacity
• Pre-build solutions and testing prior to system deployment
• Project related installations of IT systems and Solutions
• Liaison with 3rd parties to resolve issues with bespoke applications, which fall outside the desktop Helpdesk Team
• Update the ticket management system to maintain a detailed record of all faults and fixes
• Maintain technical documentation to ensure internal records are up to date
• Work as part of a team on project related work, assisting with planning and implementations activities
• Provide cover to other team members’ roles in times of absence, whether planned or unplanned

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Server OS: Windows Server 2008 – 2016
• Demonstrable experience with ADDS, ADCS, DNS, DHCP and group policy
• Storage: SAN; Panzura
• Virtualisation: Nutanix AHV, VMWare
• Compute: Nutanix, VMWare, Hyper-V
• SaaS: Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
• Networking: TCP/IP networking and infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
• Backup Solutions: Veeam Backup and Replication, Veeam Cloud Connect
• Telephony: Nortel, Skype for Business Online
• SQL: Exposure to MS SQL server 2008 to 2016
• VDI

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to demonstrate troubleshooting and resolve technical issues across a various infrastructure and services
• Experience in building and maintaining physical and virtual servers in line with supplier best practices
• Experience in remote diagnostics along with analysis and monitoring
• Experience managing backup environments, both cloud and on premise
• Knowledge of ITIL v3 and Incident, Problem, Release & Change Management Procedures
• A full driving licence is not essentially, however beneficial
• Ability to work independently, using own initiative to problem solve
• Ability to work as part of a close team who drive IT adoption and wider digital project leads

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

• Ability to convey complex technical strategies to a range of people at different levels within the business who may have varied experience or software knowledge
