The speed read:

This design agency works in the transport sector, and they are looking for a rigorous Project Manager.

The facts:

The projects that you will be managing are often large and have lots of different stakeholders, such as architects, engineers and other interested parties, not just the client. So you need to be the kind of person who likes detail, logistics and keeping everybody abreast of things as the project progresses.

Day to day, you will work alongside the owner, a project director and graphic designers to produce world-class design for large clients, commercial and/or governmental.

You can put proposals, costings and timelines together and you like documentation to be tidy. You like systems and are rigorous in your approach. You are often one part of a very large and lengthy process, so you need to find and understand your place in this. You will appreciate classic, timeless and solid graphic design. You are comfortable working in 3D and to scale:  you don't get freaked out by this!

You will be happy to find your own process, work with other peoples' and create it where necessary too, but this agency isn't admin heavy.

This is a hybrid role. You like project management, but you also like talking to clients and making sure they are happy, so you can do account management too.

It is important that you are happy to travel once every 5-6 weeks (including long haul). Some of these countries may be in the middle, near or far east. But you like an adventure so you don't mind.

You'll be:

  • Strong on attention to detail and understand the importance of deadlines.
  • Culturally curious. You will work with lots of different nationalities and you enjoy seeing what makes people from different cultures tick
  • Generally great to have around
  • Self motivated, calm and considered

If you have any languages, that would be good but is not essential at all.

Any experience working in transport or places and spaces will stand you in good stead in this role, but it's not essential, as long as you are interested in this area.

Your superpowers:

Rigorous, versatile and an adventurous spirit
