One of the world’s leading art auction houses is looking for a midweight designer to join their internal creative team and make this role their own. Don’t worry - you will be sitting with some of the best arts writers in the UK and have a fellow two designers to bounce ideas on.
Sitting in briefing meetings, you will meet artists and specialists in their own field, talking about curating some beautiful ideas for proposals for their collections. Really understanding what the collection is all about and finding a look and feel that oozes what the client is after.
Once ideas are finalised - it is now time to bring those ideas to life. Working with the writers, you will all come up with the seller marketing strategy - telling the artists story and finding the best design solution on how to promote them on a global scale and bringing your ideas to life.
So, one size does not fit all in their eyes at all - they are known for bespoke pieces and they tailor everything and I mean everything - to the point where they take the idea beyond the proposal into the pitch room, so the client can fully immerse themselves into the idea - after all they are all about the arts!
You would definitely need to be a lover of print - working on long printed documents is something you enjoy not loathe! And, they produce some gorgeous looking books indeed! Digital also plays a part as you will also be mocking up what it will look like on their website and also social media channels too.
You will need to have a good sense of sensibility, flexibility and have the confidence to work creatively under pressure as they do work towards some tight deadlines. A great communicator and having an understanding of articulating your ideas to clients - growing into a real design specialist.
There is a clear line of progression here and you have the chance to grow and be part of some fabulous future collections.
