My client is a leading player in VFX and responsible for creating some of the phenomenal affects for legendary titles such as Blade Runner 2049, The Jungle Book, and the X Men series. They have studios all over the globe with teams of creative experts and cutting edge digital know-how.

As part of the Executive Committee, your operational approach will inform, support and implement change programmes such as business transformation and organisation redesign, but also grow a corporate culture that fosters a fast learning and continuously improving organisation.

There are roughly 500-600 people working on any given movie. This person will be responsible for building a metric driven culture that each and every employee can work to while also managing and improving these metrics as time goes on. With 14,000 production staff, there is a lot of data which needs managing. You will need to have experience working with large-scale teams and projects with huge levels of data to effectively take on this role.

You will make recommendations throughout the entire process based off the data and analytics to ensure the agency is as streamline, cost-effective and generally operationally sound as possible.

Each project will be across at least 3 locations (international) with client demand changing almost daily. With 13,000 shots a year (c.2,000 per movie) there is a huge number of assets to manage. When dealing with trailers and movie release dates and working alongside very senior c-suite stakeholders, you need to be cool and calm under pressure, able to react quickly and stay on top of every phase of the project. You must have experience working with large-scale global projects/manufacturing otherwise you simply won't be able to keep up with demand.

Although a very creative agency, they are going to be driven by numbers. You will need to bridge this gap and help shift the culture towards a more data-driven environment.

You don't need to come from another Production or VFX company, you may be in Management Consulting or Game Development etc. It's vital you are somewhere with quarterly/seasonal global project releases where you are managing the entire process and then making recommendations off the back of that data for the next project. It must also be a fast-paced environment where deadlines can change any second.

You will be outgoing, confident, creative in thought and extremely operational. You can look at data to pull out insight and make changes where needed but also talk to your team to manage issues and help change the culture to ensure everyone becomes metric driven.
