We are on the hunt for a Junior or Middleweight CAD Designer (to joint their CAD team of 2)

As CAD Designer you will work across a wide range of projects, supporting the CAD team to create high quality technical drawings that meet both the client brief and the venue/event building regulations.
With 2+ years experience, the CAD Designer will work with the creative studio, project management, production and other internal stakeholders to create and oversee approval of technical drawings and specifications. The CAD Designer is responsible for ensuring all technical drawings are aligned with the approved design, meets all production specifications and follows all agreed internal agency standards and processes.
You will bring an understanding of fabrication methods and materials and will be fully fluent with Vectorworks software and an understanding of 3D design processes and tools is an advantage.
As a vital part of the creative team, you will be an excellent communicator, be well organised and able to manage tasks to agreed deadlines, be a team player and have a passion for the events industry. You will keep up-to-date with latest design, innovation and industry trends at a technical level and be ready to share best practice with the wider team.
The ideal candidate will produce drawings and documents through all stages of the design process using Vectorworks (not a deal breaker!) in 2D and 3D in accordance with design specifications and venue/event building regulations. Detail all elements of drawings to the agreed agency standards and to reflect all necessary information required by sub-contractors to effectively quote for and build the structures and in line with the approved designs. Ensure all work meets the agencies standards required to high quality output. Keep accurate records of work created for reference and to support quality control. Participate in client meetings and internal meetings to effectively present CAD work, from pitch through to development and delivery. Maintain accurate timesheets and records of costs incurred. Develop and keep up-to-date with latest tools/techniques to produce CAD work, as well as guiding others. Organise and plan own work, manage time effectively and maintain focus on strategic projects. Work with the production teams to ensure CAD design stays strong through to delivery and discuss alternative approaches if budgets/constraints become restrictive. You will also have a good knowledge of Adobe Suite, where you will be required to support in artworking during quiet periods.
