This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing, ambitious business specialising in the design and manufacture of playground equipment. You will act as a multidisciplinary designer in a fun and inspirational design studio environment, undertaking and delivering new innovative product development, bespoke product design adaptations and creating inspiring 2D and 3D playground visualisations.

As a Designer you will be involved in all aspects of the company design mix. The role will be challenging, varied and exciting and suited to someone with a creative yet analytical mind that is comfortable managing products through the full product lifecycle. It is a role where rolling up your sleeves and making things happen is key and where a strong commercial mind set is extremely important.

Key Responsibilities:
Concept design; full and part product lifecycle and project management; customer led bespoke product adaptations; product supply chain sourcing; supplier negotiations; technical drawing; assembly instructions; research and development; testing and certification and product re-engineering.


Person / Experience Required:

  • Degree qualified in Industrial Design / Product Design or equivalent
  • Experience in technical product design within a team, ideally related to the play sector
  • Fully creative and confident in project managing all that is encompassed in the product design process
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, dynamic with real creative vision and flair
  • Commercially aware and able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions to problems
  • Strong presentation sketching and communication skills
  • Knowledge of a variety of materials and industrial manufacturing processes
  • A willingness to embrace change and development as the business evolves and grows and encouraging this attitude in colleagues
  • A full, clean driving licence and the willingness to travel if required
  • Solid Edge / Solid Works & ideally 3D Studio Max along with the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
