Our Client with offices in London & Surrey is looking to add a talented Project Designer to their Egham Office. Our client creates quality commercial interiors which positively impact on business productivity and employee satisfaction. General purpose of role:
The Project Designer’s role is to work alongside the Creative Manager to assist with creative design solutions and delivery of larger project as well as running their own projects. The Project Designer is tasked with pitching and winning work in a competitive environment working closely with a sales and Pre Con. Once the project is won they will manage the design process, working closely with the Technical Designer, Pre Contracts Manager and Contracts Manager who all take their share of responsibility for delivering the projects, meeting both the client’s brief and budget. Client facing, the Project Designer will establish solid relationships both externally and internally, fostering excellent communication skills to drive the project through from a Design perspective. Working on several projects at any one time
Taking and interpreting client briefs
Creating tests, boards & presentation material to present creative conceptual designs.
Pitch in a competitive environment, and attend other client presentations.
Space planning, specifying materials and attending site meetings.
Supporting the Creative Manager or Design Director as required.
Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal team members throughout the project.
Professional Skills & Experience:
Strong aesthetic / good eye for design and detail
Experience of working for a D&B fit-out company or Design Consultancy.
Proven track record of building relationships and interpreting client needs, often in the moment.
Proficient users of AutoCAD and experience of producing detailed technical drawing packages
Good 3D Visualisation skills or a willingness to learn would be an advantage (Sketch up or similar)
Excellent time management and communication skills
Ability to design to a budget
Photoshop to presentation standards as well as Microsoft office
Extremely well organised and efficient
Used to work independently and happy to take ownership.
Have the ability to challenge/question/advice clients and internal teams.
